Dear Sir/Madam , The Municipality of Zwolle hereby confirms its interest in joining the ‘Mission on ClimateNeutral and Smart Cities’ (the “Cities Mission”) of the European Union. This Mission will mobilise local authorities, citizens, businesses, investors as well as regional and national authorities to achieve two objectives: 1) Deliver at least 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030; 2) Ensure that these cities act as experimentation and innovation hubs to enable all European cities to follow suit by 2050. Zwolle looks forward to being able to sign its own “Climate City Contract”, in which we will formulate our plans for the city of Zwolle to achieve climate neutrality by 2030, including an investment plan. We recognize that these Contracts will be co-created with local stakeholders and citizens, and have already the network in place to engage these actors. The Municipality of Zwolle therefore commits to the Missions’ objective of reaching climate neutrality by 2030, and will contribute to reaching this objective for the city of Zwolle.
