Chain Link Fence Plasitor® 50 x 2,00 - 3,00

Scope

Chain Link Fence (Figure 1) is made of uninterrupted helices providing approximately square meshes. Chain Link Fence is selvedged on the top and bottom. The standard selvedge is “knuckled” on both sides (Figure 2). Plasitor® is made of PVC coated (Extrusion) galvanized wire.

Definitions



Nominal wire diameter: The diameter in mm to designate the wire on the order.



Real wire diameter: The average value of the minimal and the maximal diameter, measured in the same section of a straight piece of wire, by means of a micrometer accurate to 0,01 mm.



Nominal mesh size: The size in mm to designate the mesh (Figure 3 – size a)



Nominal height: The total height of the fabric, the selvedges included.



Type: Combination of the nominal mesh size in mm with the nominal wire diameter in mm to designate the fabric.

Raw material

2.1

Wire Rod

See table 1. Table 1 : Chemical composition Element % C ≤ 0,10 Si ≤ 0,30 Mn ≤ 0,70 P ≤ 0,035 S ≤ 0,035 The designation of the wire rod is based on grade C9D – ISO 16120-2.

2.2

Zinc (Zinc used for galvanisation bath)

Minimum 99,95% of pure zinc is used for galvanising, in accordance with Z3 of EN 1179.

2.3

Plastic Coating

The PVC is free of cadmium, lead and DOP.

Wire diameter and tolerance

Diameters and tolerances are in accordance with ISO 22034-2

Tensile strength

Tensile strength of the wire is between 550 and 800 N/mm².

3.3

Mesh size

See figure 3. 50 mm, tolerance on mesh size: ± 4,5 mm. Mesh size is measured between two neighbouring wires, such as shown in figure 3.

Height of the fabric

Tolerance on height: Nominal height < 100 cm: 100 ≤ Nominal height ≤ 200 cm: Nominal height > 200 cm:

-0 / +25 mm -0 / +30 mm -0 / +35 mm

The nominal height is the height of the fabric before installation.

Roll diameter

The packed roll diameter is 35 cm Tolerance ± 6 cm

Coating

4.1

Metallic coating

Zinc coating thickness on the wires: Minimum 30 g/m²

4.2

PVC coating

PVC coating thickness: Minimum coating thickness 0,35 mm in accordance with ISO 22034-2.

QUV-A test (UV-resistance of the PVC) (in accordance with ISO 4892-3) After 2500 hours exposure, the PVC will not crack down to the base material when bending or wrapping around a mandrel. The discolouration ( E) shall be  6.

Form of Delivery

The roll length is determined by unwinding a roll of fabric on a flat level with a certain tension to avoid slack parts. When applying the tension, the real height of the fabric shall not be decreased by more than 5,3 mm/meter without exceeding 12,7 mm (ASTM A 392). Nominal roll lengths: See table 3 and 4. Tolerance on roll length: -0 / +2 %.
