Energeia Solar Power Plant Leeuwarden, Drachtsterweg The Netherlands

Solar Developer Energeia, has developed a utility-scale solar power plant at Drachtsterweg, Leeuwarden. The power plant consists of 30,324 solar panels installed across the 15 hectare site. The solar power plant has a capacity of 12.1 megawatt (MW DC) and provides approx. 4.000 households with electricity in the surrounding community. 2

In Cooperation with Goutum/Leeuwarden

In 2017 Energeia and Energy Cooperation Goutum/Leeuwarden came together with an idea of building a solar power plant in this community. As discussions progressed, the Municipality of Leeuwarden and the village council of Goutum/Leeuwarden also committed themselves to the plan and lent their cooperation towards the development and construction of the Drachtsterweg power plant. Today, through the power sales agreement with Energie vanOns, the energy produced by the Drachtsterweg plant is prioritised to be sold in the surrounding community. Further, through the establishment of a mutual investment fund, Energeia funds support renewable energy initiatives in the Goutum/Leeuwarden area. 4

The Drachtsterweg Plant Location: Drachtsterweg, Leeuwarden Coordinates: 53°10'04.4"N 5°49'43.0"E Ground level height: 2 meters below sea level Azimuth: 18° Fence: approx. 1930 m (2 m high) Built-up road, permanent: approx. 785 m, 3.50 m wide Solar Farm Development Area: approx. 13,5 ha on a 15 ha. site The solar plant of approximately 15 ha. will generate approx. 12.000.000 kWh of electricity which will provide approx. 4.000 households with energy.

MAY 2019 First Contact with STEAG Solar Energy Solutions GmbH at InterSolar Europe in Munich.

JULY 2019 Sub Engineering Procurement and Construction contract signed with STEAG.

NOVEMBER 2019 Notice to Proceed with construction (notice to begin construction).

JANUARY 2020 Construction started.

MARCH - JULY 2020 Construction interrupted due to Covid 19.

JUNE 2020 First energisation.

AUGUST 2020 Plant is Commissioned.

NOVEMBER 2020 Provisional Acceptance. (This means the plant has passed all the tests and is finished).
