Vragen? Dear residents, With this letter, we would like to inform you about a development that concerns all DUWO houses in Delft: the proposed changes to DUWO’ resident approval policy for shared housing. What’s going on? Stichting DUWO intends to modernise the national roommate selection policy. This involves examining how co-optation rights (the right of residents to decide who will become their new housemates) will be organised. DUWO’s goal is to create more transparency and offer equal opportunities in the allocation of rooms. At the same time, there are concerns about how this new policy might affect the sense of community within student houses. The role of WijWonen and ORAS WijWonen is the tenants’ organisation that advises DUWO on potential policy changes. We believe it is important that the voices of Delft’s students are well-represented in this process. WijWonen collaborates with ORAS — a student party in the TU Delft University Council — which also holds discussions with DUWO about the housemate selection policy. In addition, WijWonen maintains its own contacts with other student tenant organisations and DUWO, to include a variety of perspectives. What do we ask from you? We invite you to send a letter or email to hospiteren@oras.nl, in which you describe your experiences of living with your housemates — whether those experiences have been positive, negative, or mixed.

This could be about what daily life in your house is like: perhaps you feel at home and have close contact with your housemates, or maybe the atmosphere is more distant and everyone mostly keeps to themselves. You might share examples of what works well in your house, as well as situations that have been more challenging or led to tension. You can also share your experiences with the roommate selection process in Delft — whether the process went smoothly for you or whether you found it challenging. Please also indicate whether you live in a DUWO residence, and if so, specify which complex. This helps us better understand the background of everyone’s stories. In conclusion WijWonen and ORAS are committed to representing the interests of tenants and students in Delft. Your input is essential: by sharing a wide range of experiences and perspectives, we can form a clear and comprehensive understanding of what’s happening in Delft’s student housing. Questions? For practical questions, please contact WijWonen Delft via info@wijwonendelft.nl. Kind regards, WijWonen Delft ORAS Delft
