Current HSR emissions amount to 45 – 55 gr CO2-eq/pkm (Average – High). But the HSR operates at a lower load

factor (55-75%) than hyperloop as modeled in the LCA (80%). When factoring in the load factor differences this results in a hyperloop footprint of 40 – 59 gr CO2-eq/pkm.

Part of the annual 1.5 % increase in efficiency will be due to aerodynamic improvements to the plane. Electric

planes can also benefit from this. We assumed half of the efficiency increase is due to aerodynamic improvements.
