Geothermal Electricity powering Amsterdam and building 75.000 apartments to finance it

Introduction The answer to solving the Dutch housing needs, clean energy problems and introducing a new way of food production that can be fully automated from an IT engineer with many years of construction experience. In my opinion is, 75.000 Canyon (from surface down) Apartments in Amsterdam with an average of 100m2 living space,. Each with a great view over a Park or City and in average a 25m2 front window space. These apartments are constructed in a circular structure with a diameter of 1.000 meters reaching down 500 meters to a Park bigger then the Vondelpark. Below the park, there will be Green Houses as deep as technically and economically feasible. Heated by natural heat from the earth (Geothermal) and lit by Geothermal electricity.
At the bottom/base of the entire construction a 20 degree angle tunnel will go down further in the direction of the North Sea. Where steam will be harvest naturally from the heat of the earth and like a wind or solar farm, all small steam machines will be installed which connect to multiple steam turbines that let generators produce electricity. This project will strengthen the Dutch universities and companies in building up more knowledge about solving climate change. This will create a money maker industry with solutions that will in turn accelerate the process. In the long term, these solutions will help solve the hunger problems and reduce the value of terminating nature to minus.
An Energy Mine and Generating Geothermal Electricity at the source 4 to 5 km down under
The Earth gets hotter as one travels towards the core, known as the geothermal gradient. The geothermal gradient is the amount that the Earth's temperature increases with depth. On average, the temperature increases by about 25°C for every kilometre of depth.
Our first focus needs to be the Logistics. How to we get underground and handle the logistics of all the excavation that needs to be done?
The answer to this can be a road going from the top of the mountain down to the valley. When Amsterdam is the top of a 5 km mountain, we will need to build a tunnel to get down to the valley. This can be done by a tunnel boring machine like we use for subways. New tunnelling boring machines can work fully automatic and run on electricity. Meaning the right hardware is available.
Second focus will be handling the heat. The best solution is where people work from the surface while controlling robots and automation. A water cooling system could also be a solution.
Geothermal
Looking at all energy types we always generate the energy at the source. Only with Geothermal we don’t.
Is this because we were always drilling for oil and gas and we think we need to drill also for hot water?
Drilling is too complicated. Therefore, we need to go to the source.
This means going down into the earth like we did many years ago with mining gold and other minerals.
Digging examples https://youtu.be/2zU_CiB2GnQ
Electricity is the gold of tomorrow
Mponeng Gold Mine, South Africa The current operating depth at the Mponeng mine ranges from 3.16km to 3.84km, while the future mining is expected to further deepen the shaft bottom to 4.22km below the surface
Building a tunnel going down to minus 5km – Prufrock?
The engineer will work from home like a pilot flying a drone from the other site of the world
Expected is that IT will increase drastically in the building sector. The designs are already available in an electronic version. The focus is now fully automating the physical building process. The robots we know from factories become now mobile on the building site.
Evolution of the machine to the outside world where the machine can survive on its own
A selfdriving car exists of software and hardware
You can change the hardware, To VW, Mercedes, Trucks etc…
AND mobile things with legs etc… Maybe you remember the history of Microsoft, it is repeating itself again
The challenges for Governments start before all products are available
Climate change does not give us time to wait! We need to start now and get better during the process.
There is no valid reason why we should not start with tunnel going down into earth for Geothermal energy. So far, drilling is not the solution – so think differently!
Even if drilling solutions get better, we then don’t need to start from the surface.
Starting means companies, universities etc are willing to invest in knowledge and gain more experience.
Evolution start by doing

The construction process at Coenhaven.
Large cylinder apartment building going down into the soft sandy soil of Amsterdam. With a huge park at -500 meter below sea level. The building itself is also the dyke if we don’t solve climate change.
Reduce logistics around construction by having a multi year centralized construction site near water, rail traffic and high ways.
Work based on 3D printing.
Save on energy via natural earth heating.
Making the transition to 100% green energy.
Amsterdam can supply its own food and even export food.
Getting the cost of food production down via automation and low energy cost.
Solving Amsterdam's housing problems and making it affordable to everyone.
The income generator for Amsterdam
Lease income from energy companies that lease space for electricity generation in the energy mine.
Lease income from farmers that rent green house space.
Lease income from warehouse space.
Lease income from housing.
Every penny spent is used multiple times

Doing and discussions makes for better solutions
Action is the only way to avoid climate change There is always space for improvement. Don’t say “not possible”, but “how can it be possible and better”.
